Definition of the non-inferior posterior staphyloma and inferior posterior staphyloma groups. The OCT images are magnified threefold vertically to enhance the macular shape (A). Two retina specialists (HT and RF) classify the patients into two groups: the non-IPS group, in which the inflection point of the macular shape coincides with the fovea (deviation within 3000 µm, A, B), and the IPS group, in which the position of the inflection point of the macular shape is deviated more than 3 mm below the fovea (C, D).
